A few weeks ago Chantelle contacted me about collaborating with her on an artsy photo shoot in exchange for some of her artwork. I am a huge fan of her art style, so of course I jumped at the opportunity!
She wanted to shoot in her home art studio. Her house is easy to find because the entire thing is painted a bright, beautiful blue! It stands out, just like her! As you come into her house, you are greeted by walls of vibrant artwork, complemented by huge windows that make the home feel cozy, yet open.
She described her home as organized chaos. The chaos part is where her two adorable little boys come in. They are balls of energy, and so sweet. They sure aren't shy in front of the camera either!
Luckily I had brought my assistant (a.k.a husband) along, so he was able to play with the kids, while Chantelle and I headed to her studio.
She had gorgeous otter painting in the works, so I asked her to just keep painting as if I wasn't there. I love capturing people in their natural habitat.
As she painted we had a great conversation about all of her travels. Originally from Australia, she lived in Singapore before her husband's job brought them up to Alaska.
It was a gorgeous day outside, so for the last part of the shoot we went to the porch.
Chantelle was a great sport, and so fun to shoot with!
After the shoot Chantelle invited my husband and I to stay for dinner. She was an absolute joy to shoot with, and I sincerely hope I get to spend more time with her this summer. What a gem! Happy Trails, Isabel Forester
