Whimsical Winter Engagement Session // Anchorage, Alaska

When Carly reached out to get engagement photos done I was ecstatic. Carly & Alex previously hired me for a couples session in 2019, and I was overjoyed to find out they were engaged. They are the sweetest couple, and their engagement story is even sweeter. Alex planned a getaway in Fairbanks, where he rented the cutest little Airbnb. After cooking them dinner, Alex asked Carly to grab a book from the shelf. It was a photo album he had made filled with pictures of them throughout the years. He then proposed and asked her to fill the rest of the album with him! Seriously, how freakin' cute can you get!

Not only was the proposal perfect, the ring was too! Alex proposed with his Great Grandmother's ring. Heirloom rings are so special, and it's so awesome when an heirloom ring perfectly matches the style of your bride to be.

When they originally contacted me they wanted to do their session in the Mann Leisure Memorial Greenhouse - which they learned about reading one of my previous blog posts! I love shooting at the greenhouse and was totally stoked! However after discussing further we decided to move the session completely outdoors due upcoming mask mandates and an abundance of caution regarding *the virus that shall not be named*. Moving the location outdoors turned out to be totally epic - we had the most gorgeous weather! It was a chilly day, but Carly & Alex both agreed it was worth it. I brought hand warmers to help keep the cold at bay, and we had a blast in the sunshine.
